Scotland's Golf Coast

Luffness New Golf Club

Luffness New golf Club lies in the heart of Scotland’s Golf Coast between Aberlady and Gullane. Founded in 1894 and originally designed by Old Tom Morris, Luffness New offers a traditional links experience.

The original ‘Old’ Luffness opened in 1867 and was located on land behind Gullane Hill. A land ownership dispute in 1893, resulted in the ‘New’ course opening in 1894. The original club relocated and became Kilspindie Golf Club. An Old Tom Morris design, the course has seen small alterations over the years under the guidance of many great golfing figures including Willie Park Jnr. and James Braid.

Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the whole Luffness experience, not only the delights and challenges of the course, but also the characterful public rooms of the Clubhouse. The renowned Smoke Room, considered one of the finest in golf, provides the perfect setting to meet fellow golfers, discuss the day’s play.
