The Renaissance Club has hosted the Genesis Scottish Open since 2019. With winners including Rory McIlroy and Robert MacIntyre, the course is a championship challenge for the world’s best golfers.
A short hop from the beautiful town of North Berwick, the course enjoys picturesque views over the Firth of Forth, and despite its modern feel, the Renaissance enjoys all the traits of a classic links.
The Renaissance Club has drawn on the experience of both local and traveling golfers alike, to refine the Scottish golfing experience on and off the course. The Tom Doak links designed course provides a fair test for all golfing abilities, with different tee lengths making it suitable for golfers of all levels. To create a golf course between North Berwick and Muirfield was a brave task, but with a successful result.
In 2021, Doak and Padraig Harrington worked together to adapt the golf course. Bunker changes, tweaks in and around the greens, and risk and reward options have given the tour pros more to think about, whilst being fair to the members.
